This year at the Black Opal Stake races at Thoroughbred Park the ladies and gents brought their "A" game to the Myer Fashions on the Field. Ladies were on point predicting this season's Autumn Winter trends. We saw faux fur, lady like lace, gem tones and felt. There was a big stand out was from the hats - some very unique styles. Always tough to make a decision on the winner especially this time round. Compliments go to the head-to-toe dressers with statement rings over their gloves and attention to detail in their stocking choices. Such a successful day and as always thank you for having me!

Spring Summer fashion is experiencing life in full colour - Be sure to keep it cool with loose fitted tees teamed with cropped pants or tailored shorts. Think sheik man style. I really enjoyed this interview. Colaborating with Rahima was a great. As I sat down to meet her in the Westfield Belconnen Style lounge I felt at home in my boduior. Julia had a great idea to lay out my clothes over the style lounge and hang them up on the light fixtures. A big thank you to the ladies.

As I mingled with the fashionistas at Ellory Lane hosted by Irene Pavlovic, I was lucky enough to meet assistant designer Alex Hamilton to labels 'Pink Stitch' and 'August Street'.

The Autumn/Winter collection was launched with a fashion parade showcasing the best on-trend looks.

Alex Hamilton actually started off wanting to be a builder. She then had a change of mind. Then started working for Bras n' Things as a designer for lingerie and swimwear.

Standing next to me in her gorgeous uniqely designed dress, I was curious to ask a thousand questions so I thought I'd better start off with one.

Who is one of your fashion icons, I asked? "Alexander McQueen" she said. Who could blame her. Have you seen his shoes?! < And if not please Google them now. Alex also loves Australian designers like Shakuhachi and Maurie & Eve and suggests that you must have a fur vest/jacket and something tan in your wardrobe. We also discussed, types of music we like and she loves quirky sounds and a bit of Rhianna.

Olga Valerie Punyer tells me that 2 years ago she supported a friend that entered the Oceania FTV model awards and ended up getting in the finals after that the modelling started rolling in... she has appeard in many add campagins in Canberra. This lady is gorgeous and I had a few questions to ask her about fashion.

JL: What are you must haves for this Winter?

OP: Trench coats and little ankle boots.

JL: Who are your fashion icons?

OP: I do like Prada!! I love Prada - it's simple at times and makes a statements with their shoes. Prada shows that you don't have to show much skin to be sexy.

She tells me that she will wear her T-Heinrich top with a black pencil skirt that she will tuck in to. And that it will be a nice little statement piece. "It adds a bit of colour and flair".

While us Westfield Belconnen Stylists were busy collecting product and setting up our pods, Gok Wan was getting closer to Westfield Belconnen. More and more people crowded around Westfield’s centre stage. He came out, "Hands up if you want to be styled?" Aunty Gok said and every woman was enthusiastic and put their hand up. He picked 12 lucky ladies and dressed them in clothing from a range of fabulous stores including Cue, Witchery, and Portmans. He incorporated accessories to the mix and the results were stunning. There were promo girls giving away chances to win Citizen watches. The hype was all there.

Resident Westfield Belconnen stylists Sam West and I gave 15 minute styling sessions and talked about the up and coming trends for 2011 Autumn/Winter. Here is what we talked about:

1. Camel, all your earthy tones - there is one that will suit you.

2. Shearling - found on your jackets and boots.

3. Accessories - must have leather gloves and scarves.

Look for a great fit and invest in one statement piece for the Winter. Spoil yourself a little. Be different and experiment.

Black Opal Races 13 March 2011 - Myer Fashions on the field

The sun was shining and it was hot, what a perfect day for the races. The crowd was beautiful and boy could they dress. Women, men and couples they all delivered.

Judges: Mils Achi, Penny Winn, Angela Menz, Laura Dundovic and myself found it difficult to choose the winners.

The Black Opal Stakes, Myer Fashions on the Field had special requirements for this year and the theme was black and white. "The Black and White theme means that it's sophisticated feel" Says Laura Dundovic. Felt or velvet for the facintors and classic lines to complete an out fit that portrayed an elegant woman. In the end we all agreed and Brittney McGlone came out the winner, she was so proud, thanking her mum who had made her outfit. Miss McGlone says that her mother is her fashion icon, "She is very, very talented".

I was busy picking the judges brains about fashion. Who better to talk to than the expert herself. Penny Winns - Myer Executive she said that the ladylike sheik is in. Urban army with a touch of leather. And for the working woman separates are back for return - white shirts and navy, camel tones for bottoms.

Laura Dundovic is loving animal prints and leather. Sexy elegant = classy. She says she can't live with out her Hollywood feet.

Mils Achi is also loving animal print and says that sherling is IN!

Janette: What is your fashion advice?

Brooke Parker: Its really seasonal - depending on the event. Its easy to dress up or down. I will wear them with high waisted shorts - to the beach. If it were a person it would be very easy to get along with.

Janette: What do you like about T-Heinrich?
Brooke Parker: They are fun and flirty - they stand out, they are cute! I wanna stand out from the crowd.

JL: Why do you like T-Heinrich?

Di: It's colourful, different to Canberra Fashion - It screams, look at me, look at me. It's unique.

JL: What would you wear the T-Heinrich tops with? Give me some fashion tips?

Di: A cute little highwaisted skirt. Or short, shorts that are high waisted - with the little buttons down the sides! And deffinately heels!

JL: What is your favourite drink for this Summer?

Di: I would have to say... an Apple Martini

JL: Where will I find you New Years Eve 2010?

Di: I was going to go to 'Sensation White' in Melbourne - But, it got cancelled so. The Beach!

I love this skateboard!

Boy am I sore today, It's not easy trying to hold an angled position and not be freaked out by a biker boy when he 360 jumps over you!

Having your own fashion label is awesome cause you get one of the perks - you get to model! Team Heinrich had a blast yesterday. " It was the funnest, shoot I have ever been on"

Joing the team was Ashley with her deep set eyes and perfect pout. Ash looked like she really enjoyed the shoot getting the attention of bikers roaming the streets at the underpass.

Collaborating with Guy and Sarah - photographer and videographer was fun, we unleashed the inner urbane skate-stress and did our thing in front of the camera's.

Hair stylist Sara curled and quiffed our tresses till it stood up on its own AND made us hungry with those hair products - they smelt so divine, it made me want to eat them!

We were in underpasses and at this really cool skate park, portraying a urban/glam. Go T-Heinrich!

There was some behind the scene video footage that I'm sure would turn heads, then when a skater boi, put his arm around one of the models that was that the icing on the cake. Her face was priceless! ew stinky! haha but really funny.
